She requires speciality reviews in Brisbane with an oncologist at the PA Hospital to assess her fitness for surgery. Angel Flight took Shirley to Brisbane, as road travel is very long and taxing for her in this state. Mission 2634 - Albury/Essendon/Albury Initial Trip Request Three year old Rose from Wodonga has been diagnosed with AL Leukaemia. She is required to travel to Melbourne to have specialist treatment not available in her local area. Mission 2633 - Jamestown/Parafield/Adelaide/Jamestown Initial Trip Request Ben
from Jamestown is in Adelaide for treatment of cancer.
His younger brother Damien is being affected very
adversely by the separation and concern over the
illness. Mission 2630 - Wagga Wagga/Bankstown/Wagga Wagga Subsequent Trip Request: 58th and 59th Angel Flight Four year old Tyson has profound deafness and vision problems. This Angel flight was for him to attend specialists in Sydney for ongoing audiological and speech therapy post cochlear implant. Mission 2626 - Merimbula/Essendon/Merimbula Subsequent Trip Request: 10th and 11th Angel Flight Brian from Merimbla required treatment in Melbourne for bone cancer at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. This Angel flight reduced the discomfort of lengthy land travel and also provided some assistance to the family. Mission 2624 - Mildura/Essendon/Mildura Subsequent Trip Request: 38th and 39th Angel Flight Ron from Red Cliffs has Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. In March 2006 he underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant and has been recovering ever since. This Angel flight was for one of his regular check ups in Melbourne. Mission 2620 - Theodore/Redcliffe/Archerfield/Theodore Initial Trip Request Eighty year old Roy from Theodore was diagnosed with ischemic heart disease. He has had a pacemaker implanted as well as valve replacements. This Angel flight was to take Roy to one of his specialist appointments in Brisbane for ongoing treatment and review. year old Donald from Denmark has had hip replacement
surgery in July 2007 as he had bone damage due to
cancer. Mission 2596 - Armidale/Bankstown/Armidale Initial Trip Request Delena and her one year old daughter Finlay needed to travel to the Sydney Childrens Hospital for Finlay to have a Kidney Stent removed. The family have recently lost their husband/father and are facing financial hardship as well as a very long road journey to make this surgery. This Angel flight helped to make life a little easier for them at this difficult time. Mission 2594 - Charleville/Archerfield/Charleville Initial Trip Request Three month old Harrison from Charleville was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. He needs to attend regular appointments with specialists that are only available at the Royal Children's Hospital. The family have been struggling to travel to Brisbane via car, so this Angel flight helped alleviate their stress. Mission 2586 - Glen Innes/Archerfield/Glen Innes Initial Trip Request Sixty-nine year old Godfrey from Glen Innes required cardiac investigation in Brisbane. He is expected to receive a pacemaker and is unable to drive. His partner is also unable to drive due to an eye condition. Mission 2583 - Mildura/Parafield/Adelaide/Mildura Initial Trip Request Fifty-eight year old Grey from Mildura needed transport to Adelaide for follow up appointments. He has had extensive previous treatment at the Royal Adelaide Hospital for acute myeloid leukaemia. Mission 2579 - Roma/Archerfield/Brisbane/Roma Subsequent Trip Request: 11th and 12th Angel Flight Ty is an 18 month old baby boy from Dulacca near Miles / Roma. He has Hydrocephalus (Water on the Brain) and required a specialist review in Toowoomba. This Angel flight alleviated the financial and travel stress that a long drive would have imposed on the family. Mission 2575 - Tumby Bay/Adelaide/Parafield/Tumby Bay Subsequent Trip Request: 3rd and 4th Angel Flight Forty year old Clinton from Tumby Bay was undergoing a stem cell transplant. This meant he was in Adelaide for up to six months, away from his wife Cecily and his 3 young children, Rory, Harry and Gracie. Clinton's family would like to see him regularly during this time, however due to the distance involved this is extremely difficult. Angel Flight assisted this family in being together during Clinton's admission. Mission 2572 - Tamworth/Bankstown/Tamworth Subsequent Trip Request: 11th and 12th Angel Flight Thirteen year old Luke from Tamworth had a brain tumor removed in 2004 and a second tumor removed in July 2006. He requires an urgent PET scan at Westmead Children's Hospital due to a suspect nodule found from a recent MRI. Being over 4 hours to travel by car, and due to Luke's condition, this Angel flight greatly helped him and his family travel to Sydney. This Angel flight was to transport Dimitri and his mother to Melbourne for his transplant. in Adelaide for up to six months, away from his wife
and 3 young children. The family would like to see

Absence Epilepsy (was originally having up to 2000
seizures a day andnow nearly none) Ataxic Cerebral
Palsy, Sensory processing dysfunction, unable to
speak and doesn't understand most of what is said
to her. She has to be fed through a PEG and has recently

with abnormalities of the Osophaegus and needed to

for frequent consultations and surgery. Mission 2401 - Adelaide/Brisbane Initial Trip Request Fifty-six year old Jennifer was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2002. She had a transplant in 2003, then a relapse in 2004. After moving to Adelaide her husband died. She now has no support there, so Angel Flight assisted her to be with her family in Brisbane. Arthrogryposis (very limited movement in all his
joints and muscle weakness). Due to the severity

Normally this would be a six hour drive for the parents and their two young children, but Angel Flight helped the family on this occasion. threatening condition known as Laryngeal Spasm which
requires her to carry oxygen. Angel Flight took her
to her recent appointment, as travel via bus to appointments
has left her feeling ill and caused her to miss appointments. In March he underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant and has been recovering ever since. After a short visit home to Mildura, this Angel Flight was for more follow up tests in Melbourne. This Angel flight was for one of her reviews, to save Linda and Jasmine a 9 hour train travel each way, during which they would have to leave behind Linda's 1 year old and 2 year old children. She has been separated from her five children ("The Jackson Five") for many months. Her children Corey, Ashley, Tristan and especially the youngest two, Maddison and Jaydn who are six and five years old are deeply missing their mum. Natalie cannot fly back to see her children in Townsville for fear of dropping right down the waiting list for a donor. Angel Flight organised to fly the children to Natalie for Easter and then back to Townsville in readiness for school. Angel Flight assist the family and fly Kayla and grandmother Pam twice per week while she makes the lengthy trip via road with her mother once per week. Mission 957 -Merimbula/Bankstown/Merimbula Subsequent Trip Request: 9th & 10th Angel Flights Six year old Gavin from Verona NSW (near Bega) has Down Sydrome. He has previously had open heart surgery and requires ongoing appointments at the Royal Far West Health Scheme in Sydney. This trip he will have a biopsy on his bowel to test for Coeliac disease. Mission 956 -Orange/Bankstown/Orange Subsequent Trip Request: 3rd & 4th Angel Flights Six month old Jolie was born with a cleft palate and requires a medical and surgical consultation at the Westmead Children's Hospital. This Angel flight was to take Jolie and her mother Cynthia to the hospital. Mission 955 -Yarrawonga/Essendon/Yarrawonga Subsequent Trip Request: 21st & 22nd Angel Flights Sixty-five year old Jacqueline, a resident of Yarrawonga, requires chemotherapy for colon cancer on a weekly basis for the next six months. The three day round trip she is currently doing by car is very taxing both physically and financially and will become even more arduous as the treatment continues. The chemotherapy treatment takes just over an hour. This Angel flight alleviated Jacqueline of her three day round trip by car. Travis was born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, a musculoskeletal disorder characterized by multiple joint contractures. His Father is the primary carer who works part-time and has no family support in Wagga Wagga. This Angel Flight relieved them of a long and tiring train trip to Sydney. Mission 940 & 941 - Inverell/Bankstown/Inverell Subsequent Trip Request: 7th & 8th Angel Flights Ryan is a young boy with Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder and a developmental delay. He has made regular trips to Sydney for major surgery. This trip was for Ryan to have several check ups with his doctors at the Royal Far West. Subsequent Trip Request: 4th & 5th Angel Flights Ten year old Hayley has ENT issues (ear, nose and throat), ADD and anxiety issues. She has had regular trips to Sydney for review with specialists and allied health staff. The Angel Flight was for her review at the Royal Far West. His wife Fran does not drive and has a medical condition requiring her to carry a small oxygen cylinder. Initial Trip Request Their daughter Jamie-Lee also required treatment in Brisbane. Jamie-Lee needed to see a specialist in Brisbane for sleep apnea and a growing disorder. Her flights were flown in conjunction with this mission. Mission 932 - Portland/Essendon/Portland Subsequent Trip Request: 23rd & 24th Angel Flights 6 year old Lachlan from Portland has regular treatment at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne for lymphoblastic leukaemia. This trip was for an outpatient appointment. Mission 928 - Essendon/Horsham Initital Trip Request One year old Ruby has a bowel immobility and obstruction requiring nutrition intravenously over a twelve hour period. Air travel was most convenient as the family were required to travel to the hospital and return home in one day. This Angel Flight was a short notice flight for Cody's parents Matthew and Joanne, who had recently been informed that Cody would be tested fro Cystic Fibrosis, which came as quite a shock to the family. Angel Flight has flown them to Sydney to be with their son. Her symptoms include a severe skin disorder; delayed growth, seizures, a low immune system and a hearing impairment. Mission 920 - Glen Innes/Bankstown/Glen Innes Initial Trip Request Fourteen year old Luke has Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and is required to have check ups in Sydney every six months. This Angel Flight was for one of his check ups. Mission 919 -Dalwallinu/Jandakot/Dalwallinu Subsequent Request: 2nd & 3rd Angel flights 76 year old Mavis required Angel Flight's assistance with transportation to the Royal Perth Hospital where she is being treated for colon cancer. Mission 918 - Townsville/Brisbane/Townsville Subsequent Trip Request: 5th & 6th Angel Flights Natalie, a mother of five from Townsville has had to temporarily relocate to Brisbane awaiting a liver transplant. She has been separated from her five children ("The Jackson Five") for twelve months. Her children Corey, Ashley, Tristan and especially the youngest two, Maddison and Jadyn who are six and five years old are deeply missing their mum. Natalie cannot fly back to see her children in Townsville for fear of dropping right down the waiting list for a donor. Angel Flight organised to fly the children to Natalie for Easter and then back to Townsville in readiness for school. Mission 917-Mildura/Moorabbin/Mildura Initial Trip Request Fifty-three year old Jeffrey has been travelling to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute for treatment for a time. This Angel Flight was for Jeffery to be admitted as an inpatient for further assessment and treatment. This Angel Flight was for Sarah to attend specialist appointments and have scans in Melbourne. Mission 914 - Coffs Harbour/Sydney/Coffs Harbour Initial Trip Request Eighty-six year old Robert from Coffs Harbour NSW is on a pension and requires chemotherapy for cancer of the oesophagus. Robert is almost blind and suffers from chronic back pain. Robert has been catching the train to Sydney for treatment, but made this trip via Angel Flight, since he needs assistance to travel and is neither physically or financially able to handle public transport. Mission 912- Adelaide/Darwin/Maningrida/Darwin/Adelaide Initial Trip Request Due to congenital abnormalities, six year old Robbie has had many major operations to correct bowel and kidney problems. This flight was to reconnect him with his family in Arnhem Land. Mission 911 - Dubbo/Bankstown/Dubbo Subsequent Trip Reques Five year old Koby has been diagnosed with global delay, a chronic lung disorder, Bronchiectasis and Refulx. These conditions have required many medical appointments in the last two years. The family are constantly experiencing financial difficulties. Mission 908 & 923 - Port Macquarie/Sydney Subsequent Trip Request: 11th & 12th Angel Flights Three year old Cody was diagnosed with Leukeaemia in March 2005. He currentl attends the Sydney Childrens Hospital for chemotherapy Cody's parents Jo & Matt were recently advised that Cody is being kept at the Sydney Childrens Hospital and will be tested for Cystic Fibrosis. This has come as quite a shock to the family. The mission to fly Jo and Mattt to see cody was called at short notice. As Angel Flight had challenges finding pilots in NSW that week, it was decided to secure arrangements with a commerical flight and avoid delay. The symptoms of this disease make it extremely uncomfortable for John to sit for long periods of time ruling out the use of transport by road or rail. The family had been travelling by car every six months to Sydney for an assortment of medical appointments coveringall her challenges. This placed considerable stress and financial strain on them. His wife, Val, has very limited support in Victoria and request that her sister, Iris, who lives in Kalgoorlie be at her side for support. The Angel Flight was for Hagon to travel to Sydney with his Mother Maryanne to attend important follow up appointmnets with Oncologists. This Angel Flight was for him to attend a consultation at the Sydney Cochlear Centre for a possible Implant. Angel Flight booked a commercial flight due to the long distance involved. She needs regular reviews by specialists in Sydney to fine tune the device as her hearing gradually increases. Mission 883 - Albury/Moorabbin/Albury Subsequent Trip Request: 7th & 8th Angel Flights Forty-nine year old Peter from Albury has lymphoma and currently a broken ankle. He had an appoinment in Melbourne for a bone marrow biopsy and possible bone marrow transplant . Due to the broken ankle he cannot currently drive. This Angel flight was to help Peter get to Melbourne. Mission 882 - Roma/Archerfield/Roma Subsequent Request: 11th and 12th Angel Flights Angel Flight has taken 18 year old Michael (with Cerebral Palsy) for another appointment with the Neurologist at the Mater Hospital. Being the recipient of Angel flights makes a huge difference for him and his family. Travel by car causes severe discomfort and fatigue for this young man, as he is unable to sit up unsupported for long periods of time. Developmental delay and problems associated with this sydnrome make road and rail travel very difficult. She was also attending a specialised clinic developed for children with the same condition. He had three other siblings and finances are very tight for his Mother. Mission 864 - Lismore/Bankstown Subsequent Request : 11th Angel flight Angel Flight continues six year old Kirk's visits to Sydney Children's Hospital, as he requires monitoring for his Muscular Dystrophy. He attends the Neuromuscual Clinic and has appointments with a neurologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, respiratory laboratory and dietitian. Mission 863 - Cairns/Brisbane/Cairns Initial Trip Request Nine year old Frances has Smith-Magenis Syndrome (Intellectual impairment & neuro behavioural problems) and is living at Innisfail in Far North Quensland. She had a high priority need to access a much needed assessment and obtain information from the specialist at the Brisbane clinic. This Angel Flight was to transport her to that assessment. Mission 862 - Bankstown/Inverell Subsequent Trip Request: 2nd Angel Flight. Seven year old Courtney has been left with a brain injury from the cytomegalovirus (Cerebral Palsy-like symptoms). She has made great strides with a treatment plan from a Singapore clinic. A visiting Specialist doctor from Belgium is again in Singapore to review and evaluate patients. This family have been fundraising to support the international visitations. Angel Flight assisted the family by returning them to Inverell once the plane landed in Sydney. After a long haul flight, mum had neither financial means nor strength to endure an 8 hour train journey home. Mission 858 - Archerfield/Chinchilla Subsequent Trip Request: 50th Angel Flight Fifteen year old Kayla has had a failed kidney transplant and has been on home dialysis for some time (Peritoneal Dialysis). Due to further complications Kayla now requires Haemodialysis three times per week and receives this treatment at the PA Hospital in Brisbane. Angel Flight flies Kayla twice per week while her mum drives the ten hour round trip once per week. Mission 855 -Archerfield/Boggabri Initial Trip Request Two year old Ian was rushed to the Mater Hospital in Brisbane after a stroke, for urgent medical attention. He and his mother Dorothy then needed transport back home to Boggabri. This Angel flight provided Ian with a safe and comfortable flight, something that is crucial to his wellbeing. Mission 854 -Mildura/Essendon/Mildura Sixteen year old Ben requires ongoing reviews following a bone marrow transplant for Myelodysplasia (a life-threatening disorder of the bone marrow and a pre-leukaemia condition). Mission 852 - Melbourne/Adelaide/Melbourne Initial Trip Request Phoung has Actue Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and has been in Melbourne waiting for a transplant. Her nine year old son Alby is living in Adelaide and Phoung wanted to see that he had settled into his schooling and new environment. Mission 851 -Mildura/Essendon/Mildura Subsequent Trip Request: 10th & 11th Angel Flights. Ronald from Red Cliffs has Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and is scheduled to have a bone marrow transplant. He has a progressive neurological condition causing intellectual and muscle spasms. Mission 847 -Merimbula/Bankstown/Merimbula Subsequent Request: 7th & 8th Angel Flights Six year old Gavin from Verona NSW (near Bega) has Down Syndrome. He has previously had open heart surgery and requires ongoing appointments at the Royal far West Health Scheme in Sydney. Mission 846 - Bairnsdale/Moorabbin/Bairnsdale Subsequent Trip Request: 12th & 13th Angel flights A Bairnsdale family have been making regular trips to the Monash Medical Centre so their two year old son Elijah can be treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Mission 845 - Hervey Bay / Gold Coast / Hervey Bay Initial Trip Request A lady from Pialba had a medical review at the John Flynn Hospital on the Gold Coast after her right hip was removed and replaced with a prosthesis. In twelve weeks time she will need to have the operation again. Road travel has been very painful. This Angel flight was to help alleviate the pain associated with her transport. This was Angel Flight’s first mission out of Hervey Bay, and its first patient mission flight to the Gold Coast. Mission 843 -Cairns/Brisbane/Cairns Subsequent Request: 6th & 7th Angel Flights Two year old Ashley from Gordonvale has Ewings Sarcooma and had previously undergone brain surgery in Brisbane and Sydney. An urgent need for him to see specialists in Brisbane has arisen to investigate the sudden onset of leg paralysis. Queensland Patient Transport SubsidyScheme (PTSS) will provide paid commercial seats for the patient and his mother. Angel Flight will help with a seat on a commercial of flight to transport the Father. Mission 841 -Coonamble/Bankstown/Coonamble Inital Trip Request Valerie is a elderly stroke victim from Coonamble who is partly paralysed and has a nerve compression in her spine causing chronic back pain. She is allergice to many pain killers and is expected to undergo surgery. This tip was to see her specialist in Sydney and to have pre-operative tests. She travelled with her husband, Ronald.
